Sivakarthiyan In Taana

Taana is an upcoming Indian Tamil action film directed by Durai Senthilkumar and produced by Dhanush, collaborating for a second venture after Ethir Neechal (2013). The film features Sivakarthikeyan and Sri Divya in the leading roles. The venture, which has music composed by Anirudh Ravichander, will release in late 2014.

Soon after the release and successful opening of Ethir Neechal in May 2013, the team of that film including producer Dhanush, director Senthilkumar, music composer Anirudh Ravichander and actor Sivakarthikeyan announced that they would collaborate again for another venture. Pattukkottai Prabakar was selected to write the screenplay of the film and revealed that the film would be titled Taana, with Sivakarthikeyan portraying a police officer. The team held talks with Nazriya Nazim and briefly signed Amala Paul as heroine, before she opted out. Sri Divya, seen opposite Sivakarthikeyan in Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam (2013), was consequently signed on to play the lead female role.
The first schedule of the film's shoot began in March 2014 in Pammal at a temple. It is expected to be released in October.^{[citation needed]}
